Our business was founded by Frank Buonanno, a master engine rebuilder and European sports car mechanic with a lifelong love of exotic automobiles. Today, Black Horse Garage is owned and managed by Frank’s son, John Buonanno. The Buonanno team continues to provide our clients with the best possible automotive service experience available for classic cars anywhere.

Frank Buonanno
Frank Buonanno established Black Horse Garage in 1991. Since the age of 15, when he volunteered to rebuild the engine of this father’s Ferrari, Frank had demonstrated a natural talent and determination for repairing exotic automobiles. He went on to be influenced and trained by some of the best Ferrari mechanics in the world, honing his skills and perfecting his craft. After more than two decades of working on Ferraris, Frank decided to explore other luxury makes, such as the Aston-Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar, by opening his own car repair and restoration facility in Miami, FL, and eventually in Bridgeport, CT, where we are today. Frank now has over 45 years of experience restoring all types of amazing vehicles and is the recipient of countless national awards from the most elite European Sports Car Events.

Today, Frank’s skill and craftsmanship are carried forward by John Buonanno. John is committed to honoring his father’s legacy by exceeding client expectations with unmatched quality and service. He has surrounded himself with a team of mechanics who are all dedicated to performing flawless work on every car the shop is privileged to touch. At Black Horse the goal is to create a unique, enjoyable, and interactive experience for our clients, and give each project the respect and attention it deserves. At our Union Avenue facility, we can do more for our clients than ever before.
