Six decades ago, Chevrolet introduced the second-generation Corvette, and it was an immediate game changer for the sports car world. The Stingray, as it was introduced, came with a sharp front end, flip-up headlights, and amazing power improvement.

This Corvette is one of the much desired fuel injected ones – a fuelie! There were four engine available in 1963 for the Corvette and this one has the L-84 327 V-8 engine. The Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection system gives the car 360 horsepower. It comes with a larger aluminum intake manifold for better fuel flow. This car comes with a 4-speed close ratio manual transmission and the Stingray can go from zero to 60 mph in under six seconds.

Chevrolet produced over 21,000 Corvettes for the 1963 model year and about half of them were convertible like this one. However, only about half of those convertibles came with the optional hardtop (original price for an axillary hardtop was $236.75), and this one is one of the lucky few. It all is painted in Tuxedo Black over red interior for a bold contrast.

The Stingray comes with an AM Wonderbar radio, an analog clock, and a tachometer that buzzes on the redline. It comes from a collection of a Corvette aficionado and collector and it comes with receipts for parts purchased, manuals, and the National Corvette Restorer’s Society Certificate. The certificate has the original GM production date of February 4, 1963 and was delivered to Salina Chevrolet in Syracuse, NY. In addition to the books and papers, the car also comes with a a Kent-Moore fuel injection calibration unit.
