One of the most popular pony cars is the Chevrolet Camaro. General Motors developed and manufactured it as a direct competitor to the Ford Mustang. Its codename during the initial production was Panther, but Chevrolet wanted a C-name to coincide with their other cars like Corvette and Corvair. When the press asked Chevrolet product managers, “What is a Camaro?”, they responded with, “a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs”.

This Camaro is a number-matching SS and went through a rotisserie restoration. It has been repainted in its original Rally Green color. Thanks to meticulous prep work, the paint pops! Part of the restoration was an upgrade to a 12-bolt 355-geared Posi-track rear end for higher reliability on the highway.

Chevrolet built this Camaro SS at the Norwood, Ohio, factory. It is powered by a 396, L35 V-8 engine that produces 325 horsepower and is driven by a 3-speed automatic Muncie transmission.

The car also has upgraded deep-dish rally rims, SS stripes, hideaway headlights, and a black vinyl top.
